Chris & the girls

Our family has always been horse enthusiasts. We have 3 geldings broke to drive which are used for sleigh rides in the winter and wagon rides in the summer.  We also have a handful of riding horses. The whole family likes to take in a few trail rides throughout the summer and enjoy using horses  or ranch work as much as possible.

Chris finished his Animal Science Diploma at the University of Saskatchewan in 2003 and came home to farm.  Growing up, he was always in the 4-H program and later as a steer wrestler and calf roper in the Manitoba High School Rodeo Association. In past years, Chris was a member of the semi-professional Canadian Cowboys Association and the Manitoba Rodeo Cowboys Association. He enjoyed team roping, steer wrestling and attending horse clinics as well as  competitions. Chris also served on the MRCA Board of Directors on a volunteer basis. His wife, Melissa, manages the website and helps with the marketing and sales of the horses.

We have been in the equine business since 1992 and find it a very rewarding career as it allows us to do what we love the best - working with horses. Since the creation of our family farm in 1947, our family has always had a keen interest in horses. We have gone from owning a  large herd of 105 to around 50 mares in the last few years. Our equine ranch is located an hours drive from Brandon and about an hour and a half drive from the U.S. border. It consists of 500 acres of tame and native grassland pasture, 800 acres of cereals/grains, and 500 acres of hayland. Our indoor facilities include an 78 stall barn, 4 adjacent box stalls, numerous sheds, and many corrals. We have had the privilege of hosting a number of international visitors for tours of our facilities throughout the years. We also own a herd of 60 commercial cattle which compliment the horses nicely.
